Historical notes

The Golden Age manuscript describes the Oriflam as a lever-operated Thorens design. Its coordinated action operates the striking mechanism and opens the ignition area. The manufacturer’s historical archive lists Oriflam with an approximate 1931 attribution and explicitly notes that this is not a firmly established first-sale date.

Identification guidance

Model attribution and physical mechanism should be checked against engravings, patent drawings and surviving examples; finish and shape are not standardized here.

Sources and research limits

The book material is a research starting point, not automatic proof of manufacture or ownership of any particular lighter. Listed historic dates apply only as qualified above.
